Please read on to get more information about ghostwriters…

Ghostwriters (or “ghost writers”) are individuals who write books for authors in an undisclosed fashion. The term, “ghost” implies that the book writer is not visible as being a part of the project. So the typical acknowledgment one would get on the Acknowledgement’s page or inclusion on the cover “with” the author’s name, does not exist in a ghost writing scenario.

For this anonymity, the author pays the ghostwriter top dollar for a number of reasons. One is because the ghostwriter is not able to use the published book as part of their portfolio in acquiring new client-authors to write for. They can’t say, “I wrote that bestseller.”

For whatever motivation, sometimes it is best for the author-client to have the appearance that he or she actually wrote the book. This is most common among celebrities and high-profile people. Other than that, the collaborative book writer is the book writer scenario of choice.

In actuality, most people who come to Writer Services had simply heard the term “GHOSTWRITER” used loosely to describe the professional book writer in general. And though they seek a book writer, it is not necessarily true that they also wish for that writer to remain anonymous. Most people want their writer to receive the acknowledgment and accolades they so duly deserve.

Collaborative Book Writer

This kind of professional book writer is the same writer. It is simply the agreed-upon technicalities of the book writing contract between “author and writer.” Such matters can, in some cases, lower the amount that the author would need to invest.

A top-notch ghostwriter, for instance, might have as their regular rate, $275 per page. That same writer might, with things like name recognition on the book’s cover, be encouraged to lower their page rate to $250. Or a royalty/profit share of the book’s sales might make the book writer willing to go to $200 per page. It is completely up to the decision of the book writer whether he/she would want to do this. After all, in such an esoteric field of good writers were few and far between, one most certainly deserves their rate upfront.

The bottom line is if you are looking for financial help, in the beginning, to get your book written, bring it up with your prospective book writer. You may have an option you didn’t know was there all the time. When working with an agreeable ghostwriter; one who really wants to see your dream become a reality, it is possible they might agree to a tradeoff of potential higher profits down the road for a “gamble” upfront.

NOTE: Do not expect ANY qualified ghostwriter to accept to work on a contingency basis of sales after the fact. By the sheer definition of “professional” being one who is paid for their performance or services, if one is really a professional book writer, they will NEVER accept such a desperate request. If they were to, then that individual is in no way qualified to write your book. End of story.

So whether you want a ghostwriter or collaborative book writer, know that they are one and the same. They are only differentiable by the terms agreed upon in the contract. The choice should be yours to make. In either case, you will receive the same quality book.
